The Daniel Pitino Shelter has a new executive director, Thad Gunderson. “I like working with people and helping people” he said. “To have a job where I can do that full time was the best fit for who I am.”
Gunderson will oversee operations at the 65 bed family and children’s shelter, a 12-person staff and ongoing fundraising efforts. The shelter is a faith-based ministry and Gunderson said his Christian background makes him good fit.
Gunderson has been married for 20 years to Natalie, and they have 7 children ages 18 to 9 year old twins. They raise livestock on a farm southeast of Owensboro and are heavily involved with the ministries of Heritage Baptist Church.
