Celebrating 25 Years Serving the Region

For 25 years, the Daniel Pitino Shelter has been serving the homeless and near homeless community – not only in Owensboro and Daviess County, but surrounding counties in Kentucky and southern Indiana. We are the only family shelter in this region that welcomes families, single dads and moms, and, of course, single women.

Throughout our 25 years, we’ve housed nearly 7,500 people in the Shelter. And we’ve served between 200-300 meals daily through the St. Stephen Cathedral’s soup kitchen.

From the beginning, we have been blessed with funding from federal government grants and other private organizations, including the Pitino Foundation. Without that financial support, we would not be celebrating  our 25th anniversary. However, most of those funds have come to an end, which we see as a new opportunity for the Shelter’s next 25 years.

Donate $25/month for our next 25 years

We are seeking 2,500 people who are willing to donate $25/monthly that would allow the Shelter to not only stay open and serve homeless families, but grow and provide more resources to help end homelessness.

Will you partner with us? No gift is too small – lots of small gifts will provide a BIG impact in our community. Your donation is tax deductible.
